Japan-America Society of Washington DC Welcomes New Board Members and Announces Leadership Updates

Washington, DC The Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASWDC) is pleased to announce the addition of Gaku Nakamura and Yosuke “Yogi” Nagamori to its Board of Trustees. The Society also announces that current Vice-Chair Randy Yoshimura will transition to an “At Large” member of the Executive Council.

Gaku Nakamura, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Washington DC Office at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA), will also serve as Vice-Chair of the Board. Mr. Nakamura has led MHIA’s government relations efforts since April 2023. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is Japan’s foremost engineering and machine manufacturing company.

Yosuke “Yogi” Nagamori, Deputy Chief Representative of MUFG Group’s Washington Representative Office, will serve as Treasurer of the Board. Mr. Nagamori joined MUFG Bank in 2010, beginning his career as a relationship manager and financial advisor for small and medium-sized enterprises. He later established a training program for investment bankers in the Asia-Pacific region while working in Singapore.

Randy Yoshimura, MD and GM – Intelligence & Government Affairs at Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, will transition from Vice-Chair to an “At Large” member of the Executive Council. Mr. Yoshimura’s continued involvement will provide valuable guidance and support to the Board.
