Japan in the Year is a policy program that brings together experts in the Washington DC area to discuss Japan’s domestic and international political future for the upcoming year.

Japan Bowl® is an academic competition that tests the achievements of high school students throughout the United States who are studying the Japanese language and culture. The National Japan Bowl® is held in Maryland each spring.

CineMatsuriis Washington DC’s first and only film festival that centers around Japanese-language movies.

The Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival >>

The Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival is the Society’s largest and perhaps most well-known event. Held every spring during the four-week National Cherry Blossom Festival (NCBF) period, the street festival is the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the U.S.

Annual Dinner >>

The Annual Dinner and Silent Auction are held in the fall to welcome and honor America and Japan’s most distinguished leaders. The Dinner and Silent Auction are a primary source of support for the Japan-America Society’s many educational and cultural activities.
