The United States-Japan Alliance serves as a lynchpin for Indo-Pacific regional security, reinforcing the leadership role of the two countries among like-minded nations. While the alliance is a matter of national-level governance, the private sector also plays an essential role in enhancing the alliance’s capabilities, innovation, and capacity.

On February 8, 2023 (Washington, D.C.)/February 9 (Tokyo), the Japan-America Society of Washington DC, the National War College, and the National War College Alumni Association will host the eighth annual partnership event studying the U.S.-Japan Alliance in the Indo-Pacific. This year’s event, the Contemporary Role of the Defense Sector, will delve into matters such as information security, security clearance processes, globalization of supply chains, and the increasingly trans-national nature of modern corporations, in order to better understand the nuances that define the private sector’s opportunities and challenges as key players in the US-Japan alliance and Indo-Pacific Security. This year’s event is in partnership with the ACCJ-NAJAS Business Leader Series.
